Becoming Tank Master – Instructions Straight from Poseidon
Various settings, like the number of fish in the tank, can be adjusted using the picofish contextual menu. You can access the menu by right-clicking in the tank. Menu items include:
Fish Count – determines the number of fish in the tank.
Fish Speed – changes swimming speeds.
Turns – controls the propensity of a fish to change directions.
Tank Size – allows the size of the tank to be altered.
Restocking the tank will replace your fish, one or a whole school, with a random assortment of new swimming friends. For new fish, click the picofish app icon in the Dock then select ‘Restock’
To quit picofish, click the picofish app icon in the Dock then select ‘Quit’ at the bottom of the picofish menu .

Why do my fish disappear when I change programs?
Make the tank smaller – the fish tank will disappear when it becomes too large for MacOS to accommodate along with others items in the menu bar.
If the tank does not appear after repeated attempts to make the tank smaller, select ‘Smallest’ from the menu.
Why do other menu bar icons disappear when picofish is launched or when I make the tank larger?
macOS will attempt to make room for picofish on the menu bar by hiding other icons under certain conditions. If this happens, reduce the tank size using the picofish menu in the dock.
How do you know if picofish is running?
The picofish application icon is visible in the dock when picofish is running. If the tank is not visible, select “Smallest” from the pico fish tank size menu.
How do you change picofish settings?

Will picofish slow my computer or other apps down?
No. picofish is designed to be efficient to terms of both memory and compute. For example, the random numbers that determine fish travel are generated once each turn, instead of once each animation frame – which would be approximately 60 times per second!

Select ‘Quit’ at the bottom of the picofish menu.

To uninstall picofish, locate it in the Applications folder and drag it to the trash.
